A Tale From the Tidepools

Jackson arrived to San Diego having never seen tidepools before, but his curiosity and knowledge for them was already sky-high.

Here's a little inspiration from the San Diego coastline!

Recently, a family from Texas booked a private tidepool tour with me. Misty, the mother, emailed beforehand to share that her son, Jackson, had never seen tidepools before, but he knew all about them and was so excited to explore together.

When the day finally came, it was a blast! We saw an octopus, enormous sea slugs, crabs, and more. A dream come true for Jackson. After saying our goodbyes, I left feeling inspired by Jackson and his family, as I often do with curious kids and supportive parents.

But wait, there's more.

A week later, Jackson's mom sent me these photos. Jackson had to give a nature-related presentation to his class, and he educated them about tidepools! I think he knocked it out of the park! I mean look at that tidepool diorama! He even used pictures from our tour in his poster. Yes, I cried. 🥹

Providing meaningful experiences to youngsters and their families is... fulfilling to say the least. Thank you for trusting me with your kids' curious, open, and absorbent minds!
