About the event
What are fungi exactly? Are they running the world? Why are some mushrooms delicious, while others are deadly? Where in San Diego can you find them? How do you identify them?
Fungi are mysterious, fascinating, and forever entwined with human culture and biology. Join North Star Naturalist to learn all about the "fungiverse", why mushrooms look, smell, taste, and feel the way they do, and how they relate to human health, technology, and history. You'll come away with a deeper understanding, a greater appreciation, and (hopefully) even more questions about San Diego's fungal community.
Adults: $18 / Children/Youth: $9
Foray length: 1.5-2 miles on easy, mostly shaded terrain.
*Muddy patches are possible, please bring appropriate footwear!
