Back by popular demand, this hands-on wildflower and pollinator photography workshop combines nature education, field photography, and creative inspiration in one unforgettable experience. Join naturalist and professional photographer, Cypress, for a guided exploration of San Diego's coastal wildflowers, native plants, and the insects, birds, and other pollinators that depend on them.


Whether you're using a DSLR, mirrorless camera, point-and-shoot, or simply your smartphone, you'll learn practical techniques for capturing stunning nature photographs while gaining a deeper appreciation for the ecology and beauty of Southern California's native landscapes.

During this interactive outdoor workshop, you'll learn:


  • Wildflower biology and identification

  • Pollinator ecology and behavior

  • Nature photography composition techniques

  • Camera settings for beginner, intermediate, and advanced photographers

  • Macro photography tips for flowers and insects

  • Smartphone photography techniques

  • How to observe and photograph nature with a naturalist's eye


With more than 15 years of professional photography experience, Cypress provides personalized instruction, hands-on guidance, Q&A, and individual feedback throughout the workshop. You will have plenty of time to practice new skills in the field while learning how to notice and capture the extraordinary details that most people overlook.
