About the event
Gather 'round the glow! Join Cypress from North Star Naturalist and entomologists from the San Diego Natural History Museum for an evening filled with bugs, blacklights, and endless curiosity. Attracted to a sheet illuminated by ultraviolet light, insects and arachnids are an exciting way to learn about your local wildlife.
Moths, beetles, praying mantises, small spiders, and true bugs are just a few of the critters often seen at a black-lighting sheet. For the brave, this event is a great way to get up close and personal. For the cautious, bug binoculars are available.
Bring a folding chair, a flashlight, and a friend! Come and go as you like between 8 and 11pm. Youngsters highly encouraged to attend!
* Minimal walking required - this is not a hike!
* Parking is free and there are restrooms nearby.
* Bring a flashlight if you have one. Extra points if it's ultraviolet :)
